Ilse Cilliers

Ilse founded ICSC in 2000 after completing her Master’s degree in Journalism at Stellenbosch University. In 2006 she was named Entrepreneur of the Year by SakeBurger and Old Mutual. Ilse is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and has completed numerous social media and financial management courses. Her strategic mindset and commitment to crafting engaging communication and people solutions have been central to the success of ICSC thus far. Ilse thrives on new challenges and exceeding the expectations of our clients. She dreams of attending an art appreciation course in Florence, Italy.

John October

John is a seasoned business executive with a wealth of experience in strategy implementation, organisational change leadership and human resources (HR). John has a proven track-record of performance delivery in senior roles and thrives where strategic big-picture thinking is required and translated into bottom-line results. He holds BCom and MBA degrees from Stellenbosch University and is currently completing his MPhil in Management Coaching at the Stellenbosch University Business School. John is an avid golfer who also enjoys listening to jazz and browsing in antique shops to add to his collection of old books and manuscripts.

Anisca Maartens

Anisca is ICSC’s operational manager. A diploma in Public Relations (CPUT) and extensive experience in the advertising industry have given her nerves of steel and efficiency second to none. She ensures that every job is completed on time and according to the brief. Anisca loves the feeling of accomplishment when a plan comes together and is happiest when she hears the sound of her children laughing. Anisca is definitely the early riser in our office – she’s up at 5am most mornings for a pre-work run.

Cara Mego

Cara is ICSC's talented graphic designer. She holds certificates in Graphic Design and Web & Mobile Interactive Design at AAA School of Advertising. Cara loves the versatility of her job and the opportunity it grants her to work creatively on a variety of projects. She's at her happiest when she's painting or tackling creative activities with her kids. Cara draws much of her inspiration from international design trends and dreams of visiting New York in the future.

Lorraine Rabe

Lorraine is our office manager and human lifeline. Solution-driven and calm, she tackles any task or hurdle that comes her way with characteristic flair and practicality. After decades of administrative experience at a major financial services firms, she now keeps the ICSC office afloat. A people's person down to the core, Lorraine is known for her friendly and compassionate nature. She's at her happiest when she's with her family.

Jana van Rensburg

Jana is ICSC's innovative digital media specialist. She is a passionate ambassador of the digital generation and has in-depth knowledge of how to use leading social media platforms to the maximum advantage of your organisation. Jana holds a BCom degree in Business Marketing, as well as certificates in copywriting and digital media marketing. When she’s not tweeting or checking her news feed, you’ll find her devouring books, taking road trips or chilling on the beach.

Business partners

Karen Nel

Karen is a writer and copy editor with over 20 years of experience in the media and communications industry – 12 of them writing and editing copy for ICSC. Her experience includes corporate and editorial copywriting, as well as creating engaging website, advertising and social media content. She thrives on interviewing interesting people and crafting their words into powerful stories. Karen holds an Honours degree in Journalism (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University and loves reading, armchair travel and amusing her family with her newly acquired Pilates skills.

Isabel Cilliers

After a long stint as professor in Library and Information Sciences at the University of the Western Cape, Isabel started her second career in 1991 when she completed her postgraduate diploma in Translating (cum laude) at Stellenbosch University. She subsequently worked as an interpreter at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the National and Provincial Parliaments and the City of Cape Town. Today she is responsible for the translation and editing of copy for ICSC. Isabel is an avid traveller and loves spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Tertius Nel

Tertius was first exposed to database programming during his studies towards an Accounting degree at the University of the Free State. His love for solving data-related problems led him to write database software for Microsoft Windows and later develop Cross Platform database-driven applications for the web. Tertius is an advocate of responsive design and is known for remaining on top of the Internet’s ever-evolving technologies. When he's not building websites, Tertius loves spending time outdoors, camping, fishing and riding his off-road motorcycle.
